1971 Ford Thunderbird

Owned by Rick from Orono, ON

I bought this 1971 T-Bird from my cousin in 1975, he owned it for 2yrs. He got it from William’s Mercury in Port Perry. The car was traded in by a gentleman from the area as he went down south in the winters.

So when got it I painted it and again in 1978. I never drove it in the bad weather as not many of these cars survived.

For a Luxury car it didn’t have all the options but it does have A\C, power steering, power brakes, power windows and locks, and 6 way power seats.

The engine is a 429 thunder jet motor with C6 transmission.  It also has suicide rear doors, which I think are really cool!

I don’t take it out much but when I do it is a beautiful ride and quite the head turner!
