2000 MG F

Owner: Matt Mansell

Some cars are bought. Others are waited for.

For years, this MG F was just a car sitting behind a garden gate in Selsey, England. But for the owner, it was something more.

Growing up visiting family in the UK, he was fascinated by the cars that never made it to North America. The quirky British models, the unusual shapes, and the variety on every street made the UK car scene feel like another world.

Then came Gran Turismo. The original PlayStation game introduced him to the MG F, but it wasn’t until years later that he truly understood what made it special.

A mid-engine British roadster. Unique. Practical. Different.

Then, during one visit to England, he finally saw one up close. A neighbour’s beautiful blue MG F caught his attention. A quick conversation turned into a walkaround, revealing a car unlike anything he had experienced before. The engine was behind the seats. The design was clever. The personality was unmistakably British.

A casual “if you ever sell it, let me know” was made.

Fifteen years later, that call finally came.

The MG F was no longer getting the use it deserved. The owner had to make the difficult decision to sell. The timing was right, and the opportunity was too good to ignore.

The car made the journey from Selsey, England, across the Atlantic to Canada, beginning a new chapter. After arriving, it received the attention it deserved: fresh paint in its original Wedgwood Blue, body repairs, wheels refinished, new convertible top, and mechanical servicing to bring it back to its best.

Today, this little British roadster represents much more than a car.

It is a connection to family, memories, and a country that helped shape a lifelong passion for unique automobiles.

What car from your past would you wait 15 years to own?
